Making Progress

This spring Melodie and her son Chris will travel to Nepal in order to visit the students, observe the progress made on the school library, and purchase additional supplies for the school.  While much work has already been done toward acquiring books and shelving for the school library, the students are still in need of additional books.  Melodie and Chris also hope to get several subscriptions to monthly periodicals and a couple of netbooks to assist the students with Internet access.

In order to support the Harnari School Library, Melodie's family (son-in-law John, daughter Jennifer, and granddaughters Kelsey and Maddie) will be hosting an appetizer party on Sunday, February 27 from 1:00 to 3:00PM.  For more information, please feel free to email at booksforharnari@gmail.com.

New Library

Very exciting!  The new library has been put together and is currently being used by the students and staff of the school.  We recently received these photos from Sunil (a father of one of the students at the school) in September.  The students are now able to visit the library, as well as check out books.  Absolutely thrilling that we are able to see such progress being made because of the generous donations that were given to the project.  Thank you to everyone to contributed!

Building a Library

In February, the Shree Divya Jyoti Lower Secondary Community School requested additional funds in order to build bookshelves to store the books.  The library project is finally coming to fruition.  The shelves have been built and the teachers and staff are busy sorting and cataloging books.  These books were purchased for the school during my last trip to Nepal in April 2009.
